ABOUT RANDY OTTENBERG

Randy Ottenberg is an original contemporary American artist. She has a unique style using a plethora of materials. Randy's mother, Diana Ottenberg, who was also an artist, was the biggest influence on her life and encouraged Randy's creativity.

Randy was employed at George Lucas’s Industrial Light and Magic for over 25 years as a traditional model maker. She has credits on over 50 major films and worked on dozens of commercials. Her years in the ILM model shop exposed Randy to a wide variety of materials that she has incorporated into her artwork.

Her film career spans decades starting with E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, The Star Wars Series, The Indiana Jones series and many more. (IMDB)

As Randy says,” I will use anything that sticks!”

Randy’s early art education was at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia where her mother took her for Saturday Art classes for years. She then went on to be educated at Minneapolis College of Art and Design and San Francisco Art Institute where she received a B.F.A. and M.F.A. Randy simultaneously continued her Fine Arts career. She is an exhibiting artist with numerous one women and group shows. Her work is in many collections worldwide.

Randy has an extensive body of work from large scale paintings, models, to most recently her “relic” series. She was inspired by her travels and dreams; Randy wanted to create intimate smaller work with a bit of mystery. The original relic pieces transfer to prints beautifully. The Relic Print series have a 3 dimensional quality, exquisite detail, colors and textures. They are now available in limited edition prints.
